Extremely saturated dark violet-purple flowers line tall spikes on this rounded deciduous shrub. They bloom at least throughout the month of June depending on climatic variation. After the bloom you still get interesting seed pods and a lovely, dense, rounded plant. Give a Baptisia some lousy soil and she will absolutely make the best of it. But don't think of moving her. Her tap root will prohibit it.
