A profusion of pink pea-like flowers bloom on bare branches before a dramatic showing of foliage. Leaves emerge purple, then fade to the blushed, variegated foliage in white, green and hot pink! for which this varietal is prized. Flowers turn to pea-like seed pods in the fall. This is a rounded understory tree that is often multi-stemmed. Appreciates some summer water and afternoon shade in hot climates. Needs a winter chill to set flowers. It was developed as a collaboration between NC State University and Star Roses and Plants Nursery.

Once your order is ready, we bring the plants from our greenhouses into a holding area. Each plant is wrapped by hand and, when needed, staked to protect tender stems. Because our inventory is so diverse, we adjust the packing method for each plant based on its size, type, and stage of growth.

We reuse clean paper and plastic packing materials whenever practical. It is easier on the planet and helps keep shipping costs down for you, too.
