Our favorite new clematis comes from Fanjingshan in China. Pendulous golden-yellow flowers blooming July through August give way to large showy silken seed heads (almost 2 inches in diameter!).  In the Pacific Northwest, it tends to be semi-evergreen, enjoys sun to partial sun, and normal to moist conditions. A delight in our gardens, adorning our Stewartia tree on the north side of our shop.

When young Clematis otophora benefits from strong pruning to encourage multiple stems.  Once established, prune for desired shape and height.
