Branch tips nod on plume-like foliage, contributing to a soft impression of this irregular form. An evergreen conifer, this one is very stout, only 15–20" in 10 years. Its namesake, Phillipe de Vilmorin, brought the plants to Europe from Japan ca. 1904.
