Narrow, evergreen leaf structures (modified stems!), somewhere between bamboo and Sarcococca in appearance, form a loose shrub. Inconspicuous green flowers become significant, at least to us, in dotting the shrub in autumn with red-orange berries. Does well in dry shade in our garden! Easy to grow, useful, and elegant.
