RARE. Newly described species from Vietnam. New growth emerges with smoky purple in spring before turning a soft green. Shows off its witch hazel family resemblance with bright pink ribbon-like flowers. Upright form. Evergreen or semi-evergreen in temperate climates.
Prefers rich, well-drained soil and part shade. Does not appreciate cold, dry winds.
