Generous-sized pendant rose-pink bells bloom in small clusters of 2 or 3 from late spring to early summer. One might even encounter the occasional purple flower. Glossy purple berries follow August – October. Its horizontally-held leaves on branching stems are attractively impressed with parallel veins. Narrow and tall, it might need staking if planted in full shade. It has been propagated from native colonies in south-central to southwest China — Sichuan, Yunan, Hunan, Xizang — where it's found in forests as well as rocky areas at 4,000 to 10,000' elevation.
Such a show-stopper of a plant, but oh so slow to increase.
