Mainly grown for the terrific scalloped felted foliage, of sage-green, which maintains color and dense form throughout the growing season. The low mounded foliage is complemented by pale lavender flowers with prominent purple veining that usually bloom once in late spring to early summer. Autumn foliage turns an attractive golden yellow. Native to the Caucasus mountains, where it is often found growing in rocky soil. Requires excellent drainage and little water once established.

We planted ours back in 1996 or '97 and it's still thriving to this day!
