Tiny, grey-green leaves dot the length of prostrate branches. In spring, clusters of tiny, white flowers grace the branch tips, then age to an attractive coppery tan by fall. Branch, leaf, and flower are all a bit fuzzy. This deciduous, low-growing shrub is native to high elevations in Oregon, California, Arizona, and Colorado. Find it nestled among rocks near Bristlecone, Jeffrey, and Lodgepole Pines. It's one tough cookie; adaptable to garden conditions as long as you don't overdo it with summer water.

Deciduous shrub; mature size: 2-3 ft T & 2-6 ft W

Minimum temperature: -30° F
