From woodlands and streambanks of central China, this "lace-cap" is a mix of creams and whites — a center froth of tiny cream-gold beads and white florets on the periphery that dangle upside down (like they're jumping ship) — wonderfully curious. Large, flat, heart-shaped leaves are, for the most part, held horizontally on this deciduous shrub. The dominant effect is soft, lush, and blousy.
