Southwestern Oregon Lewisia blooms spring to fall in an array of all the colors of the sunset. 1-inch white-edged flowers with waxy-looking petals cluster above succulent, dark evergreen, ground-hugging rosettes. Tap-rooted to find its way between rock crevices, it will thrive in rocks or gravel, doing well also in sharply-draining soil in a well-draining pot. Make a mounded gravelly bed of summer-long color, or plant in a crevice of a dry-stacked stone wall, make a crevice garden, or make a long-lasting, easy care gift in a tufa container. Winner of a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit. (Cliff Maids - could be a name for a women's rock-climbing club with Lewisia for a logo.) In the not-too-far-distant future, you'll have one-foot wide mounds with a looong-blooming, irrepressible floral display on six-inch stalks.

Once your order is ready, we bring the plants from our greenhouses into a holding area. Each plant is wrapped by hand and, when needed, staked to protect tender stems. Because our inventory is so diverse, we adjust the packing method for each plant based on its size, type, and stage of growth.

We reuse clean paper and plastic packing materials whenever practical. It is easier on the planet and helps keep shipping costs down for you, too.
