Native to European roadsides and meadows, this Lychnis has a bachelor-button type habit though it would ideally like a little more moisture. Above basal leaves, red branching flower stems hold double pink pom-poms mid-spring to mid-summer. It's pretty, and perfect for butterflies to nectar on. If you'd like a sterile, long-blooming perennial this is it; it's not naturalizing like the species.
