With stunning, bright purple-red new cones and lime-green spring growth, this is a superb small conifer with a lot going for it. Cones mature to brown and needles mature to medium green as weather warms. This is no boring shrub and can be useful as part of your evergreen garden matrix but also can function beautifully as a springtime focal point. This cultivar was originally found in 1975 as a witch's broom on a Picea abies 'Acrocona'.
Mature size: 2 – 3 feet mound in 10 years.
Minimum temperature: -40° F
