A fine climbing rose since 1927 with huge fragrant, sweet-pea-smelling blooms of luminous rosy-pink suffused with cerise—voluptuous (Rubens, eat your heart out). It is the very definition of "full bloom." If spent blooms are left, large ornamental pear-shaped hips go from green to gold begging to be incorporated into a wreath as stand-in mini-pears! Foliage is dark green with good disease-resistance. It can even cope with a north wall. Fairly drought-tolerant but appreciates some summer water. Luxuriate!
Minimum temperature: -10° F
