These Far Reaches hybrids are the chosen ones to convert the Roscoea non-believers. They are the taller children of Roscoea purpurea f. rubra 'Red Gurkha' with more tones of purple in their flowers. They are interesting throughout their entire growing season with red stalks and tropical-looking foliage that offer bright orchid flowers in shades of vibrant deep pink in mid to late summer.

Roscoea prefer a springtime planting in bright shade with regular water and good drainage. In full shade they grow taller but with weaker stems. Roscoea emerge from their winter nap often as late June or July, so don't fret at the beginning of Spring.

Once your order is ready, we bring the plants from our greenhouses into a holding area. Each plant is wrapped by hand and, when needed, staked to protect tender stems. Because our inventory is so diverse, we adjust the packing method for each plant based on its size, type, and stage of growth.

We reuse clean paper and plastic packing materials whenever practical. It is easier on the planet and helps keep shipping costs down for you, too.
