From tropical-looking glossy leaves comes a fireworks effect, unlike other plants you've seen. Cheery yellow anthers sparkle atop a puffball of deep orangey-red emerging from large purple-tipped bracts. This South African native bulb prefers bright shade--think forested ravine or streambank, wet leaf litter with good drainage, and some dryness during dormancy.

Carefully packed for each plant

Once your order is ready, we bring the plants from our greenhouses into a holding area. Each plant is wrapped by hand and, when needed, staked to protect tender stems. Because our inventory is so diverse, we adjust the packing method for each plant based on its size, type, and stage of growth.

We reuse clean paper and plastic packing materials whenever practical. It is easier on the planet and helps keep shipping costs down for you, too.
