Each summer, this PNW native perennial sends up flower spikes in deep, bright pink above deep green, rounded foliage; the overall effect is reminiscent of a hollyhock. Regular summer water prolongs the bloom period from June until frost. Expect only one round of blooms with no summer irrigation. It tolerates a wide range of conditions but is native to Coastal tidal marshes and seasonally wet meadows.
Best grown in full sun with regular water. Established plants can handle summer dry sites, but only after a summer or two with supplemental summer water.
