Finely-petaled large yellow ray flowers with a flat, gold center disk, bloom in August and September. They can reach heights of 3–6 feet where the birds and butterflies will find them. Their overall texture is fairly coarse and would be especially effective as a distant planting, an easily read bright spot from farther away. It would fit a naturalistic plan, and would be happy along stream or pondside. Less water works, but if in full sun, more water is in order.
