Silvery green leaves and tall slender stems support abundant white flowers brushed on the outside with soft flamingo-pink. They can be tucked into rock crevices, pots of low-water plants, or next to stones or walkways. Midday the blooms will open wide and flat making a starry white display, closing later in the day to show off its pinkish exterior - two flowers in one. This reliable mid-March flower likes spring moisture and dry summers, a natural for Oregon and, of course, many other places.
