A rare species native to the shaded, moist coastal slopes of Mendocino and Sonoma Counties in California. Pleated leaves rise elegantly, giving way to branched flower stems, each adorned with ethereal white blooms, each petal finely feathered at the edge. Carrying itself with a delicate grace that belies its toughness, this veratrum endures both extreme heat and cold, blooming boldly from summer into late fall when much of the garden has gone quiet.

Carefully packed for each plant

Once your order is ready, we bring the plants from our greenhouses into a holding area. Each plant is wrapped by hand and, when needed, staked to protect tender stems. Because our inventory is so diverse, we adjust the packing method for each plant based on its size, type, and stage of growth.

We reuse clean paper and plastic packing materials whenever practical. It is easier on the planet and helps keep shipping costs down for you, too.
