Tiered and arching grayish branches hold leaves with deeply-impressed veining, emerging bronze, and then becoming green. Showy lace-cap flowers begin light pink becoming an almost cranberry-red with age (especially with colder temperatures), replaced by equally showy bright red then black fruits among purple fall leaves.
