Unusual plant with charming flowers that nestle among deeply divided foliage in the shape of a multi-toed bird. A wildflower native to the east coast that grows in sandy, gravelly soil in open woods, roadsides, and slopes. Provide excellent drainage, and some summer water to be rewarded with gentle reseeding. Fabulous addition for the rock garden enthusiast! Deer resistant. Host plant for butterfly larva.
