Evergreen and fairly compact, this fabulously rewarding but hard-to-come-by shrub has sage-green leaves and abundant, May–July, 2-inch cupped flowers of buttercream yellow with dark burgundy interior splotches. This shrub blends well with other plants and is a great integrator for disparate colors and textures in the garden. It is tough but would respond to an intermittent scant watering during warmer spells.
